Ever since Nielsen-Kellerman created the COX-BOX, coxswains have been free to help their crews, not just struggle to see around a megaphone, read watches, and yell at the top of their lungs. A powerful amplifier and speakers which ensure the coxswain's voice is heard throughout the shell. Clock functions are controlled with a simple toggle switch on the front panel, easy to operate even with cold, gloved fingers.

Pieces and races can be timed to tenth of a second accuracy, and stroke rates are automatically stored for later recall and analysis. Moreover, whether calling a power ten to give the crew a needed boost, or whispering to keep strategic moves private from other shells, the coxswain can be confident that every ear should hear. Features and Specifications:

Timer: 1/10th second resolution and accuracy. After 59 minutes, 59.9 seconds, rolls back to 00:00.0 and continues timing. Toggle switch stops and resets. Starts automatically on first drive after reset.

Rate Meter: Shows stroke rate from 5 to 120 strokes per minute with 1/2 stroke resolution. Updates every stroke. Rate information provided by a magnetic seat switch.

Stroke Counter: Counts and displays number of strokes taken. After 999, rolls back to 0 and continues counting. Starts automatically on first drive after reset.

Memory: Automatically stores stroke rate every 10 seconds for the first minute after reset, then every 20 seconds for the next 10 minutes. Memory information is retained when the unit is turned off.

Display: Large liquid crystal display clearly visible in bright sunlight. Backlit for readability in darkness.

Amplifier System: Powerful amplifier drives fully waterproof speakers installed the length of the shell. Plug-in connections to wiring harness. Gold plated, corrosion-resistant electrical contacts and stainless steel hardware. Available with one, two or three speakers.

Microphone: Low-noise cable, watertight construction. Adjustable headband attaches securely to head.

Batteries: Rechargeable NiCad cells with charger. Approximately 4 hours of operation after full charging. Low-battery warning and charging indicator lamp. Batteries last for three seasons or more with proper use and are factory replaceable. Optional adaptor available for charging from a car cigarette lighter.

Physical: 4" diameter x 4" high. Two-speaker system weighs 2.25 pounds. Fully-sealed and waterproof. Sturdy metal case, durable white polyester finish. Floats.

Carrying Case: Custom hard plastic carrying case protects control unit and accessories during shipping, storage and travel.

Installation and Compatibility: Custom mounting cup and all necessary hardware supplied. Speakers and microphones fully compatible with NK Audio PaceCoach Rowing Computer systems.
