When the inevitable happens, and your oars, boat or electronics get damaged through accident or misuse, we carry a full compliment of spares and expertise to repair or revitalise your equipment.

Concept 2 Oars

To keep your oars in tip-top racing condition, basic maintenance described in the assembly and use manual that should have been supplied with your new oars is usually all that is required for many years of rowing pleasure and competitive edge, but in the event of accident or impact damage or general wear and tear, we can repair or replace all component parts of your oars. During the spring and summer regatta season, we also attend major regattas with our mobile oar repair workshop, and can also recommend an independent "Oar Doctor" based in Windsor. Fully trained and equipped, there is no need to suffer using damaged or worn equipment. It will keep your club safety officer happy and hopefully help you to compete in the best condition possible.

WinTech Boats

Boat damage is virtually unavoidable by the nature of our sport and in a busy club environment, some with inadequate storage arrangements. A great deal of damage is done on land, mainly in the boathouse no matter how careful you try and handle boats. Some boats such as the WinTech Competitor and Club Racer models are less susceptible to this kind of damage because of their single skin construction. The skin of the hull is more forgiving in the event of the everyday knocks and bangs that a typical club boat receives. The more common incidents are crunching on a landing stage or catching the skin on a rigger or top nut as the boat is lifted on to a rack. A honeycomb sandwich construction boat such as the WinTech Medalist and International models require much more care in these situations as the skin is more rigid and more susceptible to dings and scratches that should be attended to as soon as they are done. WinTech's quick release wing rigger has various obvious advantages but it really comes into its' own when you consider the ability to store up to 60% more boats in your boathouse without riggers attached, and drastically reduce damage from riggers.

We have a dedicated WinTech boat repairer based in Windsor who also attends FISA World Cup and World Championship events. In addition, most reputable boat repairers should find no difficulty in repairing your WinTech.

NK Electronics

Nielsen-Kellerman electronics have a superb reputation for their robustness and reliability, but do require a certain amount of care obviously. Here at Oarsport we have a dedicated electronics technician that can service and repair your NK equipment. The original NK Cox-Box with literally thousands of units out in the field are easily repaired and internal rechargeable battery packs can be supplied and fitted by us here in Nottingham. We are the only NK authorised repair centre in the U.K. This model has been in use for over 30 years with many of them still going strong today having received some TLC from us.

The new 2008 model Cox-Box has a user replaceable battery pack to cut down on out of service use.
